Owing to the current pandemic and lockdown situation, several notable films have opted for either a direct OTT release or direct television premiere and the latest one to join the list is Vellai Yaanai, starring Samuthirakani. Yes! Vellai Yaanai will have a direct television premiere, skipping the theatrical release. The film will be premiered on Sun TV on July 11, next Sunday, evening at 3 PM. The official announcement regarding the direct television premiere was made today (July 4). We can expect the movie to attract a solid viewership, considering that the film is premiering for the very first time. Also, when it is going to be aired on a leading channel like Sun TV, it will reach a larger audience.

Sun TV's previous direct television premiere films include Prasanna's Naanga Romba Busy and Vikram Prabhu's Pulikkuthi Pandi. Both the films got a good amount of viewership. Samuthirakani's Aelay and Yogi Babu's Mandela were the other films that had direct premieres on television (on Vijay TV).

Vellai Yaanai is touted to talk about a very important social issue and let us hope that the film strikes a chord with the audience. Samuthirakani will be seen playing the role of a farmer in this film which features Yogi Babu in a significant role. Athmiya plays the female lead, while the star cast also includes E Ramadoss, Moorthi, SS Stanley, Bhava Chelladurai, and others. Vellai Yaanai is directed by Subramaniam Shiva, who is known for directing movies like Thiruda Thirudi, Pori, Yogi, and Seedan. Produced by S Vinod Kumar under the banner of Mini Studios, the film has music composed by Santhosh Narayanan. Vellai Yaanai's cinematography and editing are done by Vishnu Rangasamy and AL Ramesh respectively.
