Sameera Reddy who made her film debut with the 2002 film Maine Dil Tujhko Diya is best known for starring in films such as Darna Mana Hai, Taxi Number 9211 and Race. She got her big break in Tamil cinema with Gautham Menon’s Varanam Aayiram. She later featured in Tamil films like Vettai and Vedi. She has now posted a video trying to create awareness regarding Corona Virus. This is what she had to say:
“As much as I make fun, make memes, try to make light of the situation with my children at home, it doesn’t take away from the fact that people seem to be getting still offended when I say don’t shake my hand, don’t hug me, don’t pull Naina’s (daughter) cheek man, how can educated people try to make light of the situation when the government is just doing their damn job. We are a huge country with a huge population and community transmission flattening the curve, social distancing, these are all things, read about, research, don’t look at those WhatsApp messages of paranoia.
Actually, look at what other countries are doing, their mistakes, let’s learn from them, the right things they have done, we have people with low immunity system, our elderly, we have nurses and doctors who are doing everything they can man, so as much as we are trying to stay cool, the right thing, have civic sense and just try to control this damn thing please.”
