Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal has been carrying tremendous expectations ever since the project was announced in early 2020, with the film touted to be a fun romantic-comedy. 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara will be sharing screen space with Samantha and the trio's casting in the film has left many fans mighty excited. Incidentally, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal is the third occasion Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara will be seen on the big screen after their pairing in Naanum Rowdydhaan in 2015 and the action thriller Imaikkaa Nodigal, which saw the Master villain in a cameo, with the 'Lady Superstar' in the lead role. The rom-com will also be a reunion for Nayanthara and director Vignesh Shivan after the two made their relationship official sometime back.

Being produced by Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studios in association with Vignesh Shivan's Rowdy Pictures banner, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal is reportedly being planned to be completely shot by the end of the year. 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for the film, with the first single track 'Rendu Kaadhal' released earlier this year as a Valentine's Day treat receiving positive feedback from fans. Vijay Kartik Kannan is the cinematographer, with the reputed A. Sreekar Prasad on board for the editing.
