'Superstar' Rajinikanth’s last release was Darbar earlier this year and is set to be next seen in Sun Pictures’ mass rural family entertainer, Annaatthe, under Siva's direction alongside yesteryear heroines, Meena and Khushboo and current generation heartthrobs, Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh. The veteran actor had only a while back set everyone in Tamil Nadu talking when he revealed that he will not be standing up as a candidate for the Chief Minister designation from his yet-to-be-announced political party in the upcoming Assembly Elections.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth has now taken to his Twitter page to drop a tweet saying the state government can bid goodbye to the dream of coming to back power if they decide to reopen the state-run TASMAC liquor shops once again. He further went on to urge the government to find good ways to fill the treasury. His tweet read, "If the state government reopens the TASMAC at this juncture, it must forget the dream of coming back to power again. Please #find_good_way_to_fill_the_coffers". Check out Rajinikanth's sensational tweet below:

Tamil Nadu government had recently reopened the TASMAC liquor shops across the state with the exception of nearby areas of Chennai city - Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram and Thiruvallur districts, which drew heavy criticism from all corners. The Madras High Court had then earlier this week issued an order to shut down the liquor shops across Tamil Nadu to remain immediately till May 17 when the ongoing lockdown will come to an end. The decision to once again shut down TASMAC centres was taken after viral videos of social distancing being defied by tipplers assembling at the shops were produced to the Court, after which it was decided that the stores did not fall under essential services and will need to remain closed for the next few days.
