Sharing a throwback video of her grandmother being featured in the Vijay TV show, Pavithra wrote, "my inspiration ❤️🙏 RIP AMMA It was back in 2010. When I first stepped into the @vijaytelevision for my first ever dance reality. I was all nervous seeing all the cameras, judges, celebrities all over. Couldn't blame me I just stepped into chennai from a really really orthodox family that will like me ONLY if I wear my salwar with my duppatta pinned in both my shoulders. This stage, this place, this everything was really new to me. I didn't know a lot of forms of dance back then I confined myself to Bharatanatyam mostly.

When I was all this at my teens, there came a superstar, my grandma who had already lived the same life as I did but for 50+ years. But when she was offered the stage she owned it, blasted it like a warrior, took the judges is awe. yeah she won the contest. the one in blue saree. I really really don't remember calling my own mom "amma" it was always you who I think of or mean when I tell amma. It's been an year amma. It still feels hard. Hasn't sunk in yet. It still feels like you are there. Just give us strength to be atleast half of what you were Miss you amma 😭".
