Sathyam Cinemas owns a cult following for giving the audience an immersive theatrical experience with top class picture (4K digital projectors) and audio (SLS Dolby Atmos Speakers) quality. The classic ‘Sathyam popcorn’ is an additional bonus for the audience and it is in fact the favourite ‘go-to’ snack for them. Also, the ‘Sathyam Main Screen’ has a history for its large seating capacity and being one of the oldest yet sought after screens in Chennai. Any producer or director or actor would want their film to be screened in the Sathyam main screen and would consider it to be a prestige.

With so much history and credits behind the screen, Ashok Selvan’s upcoming romantic drama, Oh My Kadavule was premiered last night there for selected guests from the film industry. This special premiere saw the presence of leading celebrities including director Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priya Bhavanishankar, Sathish, director Sasi, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, director Nalan Kumarasamy, Athulya Ravi, and others. Having said that, the film’s cinematographer Vidhu Ayyanna of LKG and Meyaadha Maan fame, has expressed his disappointment over the visual quality loss in the screen projection.

Vidhu took to his Twitter space to share his disappointment and in the tweet, he said that the visual images look desaturated and less sharpened. Any cinematographer would want to see the visuals he shot, in the desired colour tone and picture quality and when that doesn’t happen, it would obviously end up as a disappointment. The officials from Sathyam Cinemas are yet to make a comment on the issue. Hearing this, the fans of Sathyam Cinemas got disappointed and cited that this could have happened due to the change in the theatre's management.
