Mohan Babu is Suriya's mentor in Soorarai Pottru!

Actor Suriya's upcoming film, Soorarai Pottru, announced to be coming out as a grand summer treat this April, has been directed by Irudhi Suttru fame Sudha Kongara featuring music by G. V. Prakash Kumar. Post the release of the 'Maara' theme track and the 'Veyyon Silli' song, expectations for the film have shot up over the past few days.

A joint collaboration between Suriya's 2D Entertainment and Guneet Monga's Sikhya Entertainment banners, it has now been revealed that veteran Telugu actor Dr. Mohan Babu is playing the role of Suriya's mentor in Soorarai Pottru, which is also coming out in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana under the title, Aakaasam Nee Haddhu Ra. The news has come as a major surprise to Mohan Babu's daughter, actress Lakshmi Manchu, with an additional revelation being made in the form of the actor's birth name, Bhaktavatsalam Naidu, being given to his character along with new stills of his look the film.

Apart from Suriya and Mohan Babu, Soorarai Pottru's cast includes names like Aparna Balamurali playing the female lead with Paresh Rawal, Urvashi, Karunas, Vivek Prasanna, Kaali Venkat and others in major supporting roles with award-winning international stunt choreographer Greg Powell, known for his work in Hollywood films such as Fast and Furious 6, Skyfall, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (1&2), The Bourne Ultimatum, Lost in Space, overseeing the action in the film.
