The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) arrested Marvin Monterrosa in the evening of January 31 in Van Nuys in connection with the case of a 50-year-old actor's death in North Hollywood in the wee hours of New Year's Day. Authorities made the arrest for the death of Robert Mosca due to stabbing, PEOPLE has confirmed. Booking records show that a $2 million bail bond has been set for Monterrosa's release at a downtown Los Angeles jail. Mosca, who has made appearances on shows like The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story and Dr. Ken, is suspected to have been stabbed by Monterrosa in North Hollywood after New Year's Eve, ABC7 has reported.

Mosca's friends describe the late actor as a caring friend and focused. "He was not one of these people that sat around waiting for the phone call, like he was out there every day, every other day, trying to make things happen," one of the actor's friends, Brian DiLoreto, told ABC7. In an effort to help catch the person responsible for the murder of Mosca, a GoFundMe page was also created to collect money that read, "All who have met or worked with Rob knew him as a beautiful person. He was a good friend… if you ever needed him, he was there for you."

According to ABC7, Mosca and two other people, as per the police, were approached by the suspect from behind. Shortly afterward, they had gotten into an argument, which led to Mosca getting stabbed by the suspect. A statement on the GoFundMe page reads, "Rob fought with him, and when he got away, Rob ran to his friends and said, 'I think I've been stabbed,' " It further stated, "Rob then ran up his driveway and collapsed. He was pronounced dead at the hospital." Monterrosa will be produced in court and put on trial on February 16 in Van Nuys.
