It's official - the much-awaited Lal Salaam audio launch ceremony will take place at the Leo Muthu Indoor Stadium, Sai Ram Institute of Technology in Chennai on January 26 starting 4 p.m. The big announcement has come in the form of a special teaser giving audience a glimpse of an animation of 'Superstar' Rajinikanth taking to the stage and delivering his speech, which is undoubtedly set to be the biggest highlight of the evening.
The Lal Salaam grand audio launch event will be taking place on Republic Day ahead of the film's worldwide theatrical release on February 9. The gala ceremony will witness Rajinikanth as the star attraction considering the actor will be seen in a special role as Moideen bhai in the sports-based drama revolving around cricket under his elder daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth's direction. The buzz surrounding the upcoming film featuring music composed by Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman has been huge right from the get-go and the reception to the songs - 'Ther Thiruvizha' and 'Ae Pulla' - have been largely positive. Lal Salaam has Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth playing the lead roles as aspiring cricketers and will also see 1983 World Cup-winning captain and legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev making a cameo appearance alongside Rajinikanth.
Lal Salaam also marks Aishwarya Rajinikanth's big filmmaking comeback after 3 (2012), Vai Raja Vai (2015), and the documentary Cinema Veeran (2017), and there will be tremendous expectations for her to hit the high note. The film is gearing up for a massive opening in cinemas after it was initially announced to release on January 12 as a Pongal release, with those plans undergoing a change owing to the post-production works. Lal Salaam will incidentally see Rajinikanth kicking off 2024 as he is currently filming the highly-anticipated cop drama film, Vettaiyan, being directed by Jai Bhim fame T. J. Gnanavel and will soon begin shooting for the tentatively titled Thalaivar 171 under Lokesh Kanagaraj's direction.
