Earlier today (June 22), the makers of Kangana Ranaut's Thalaivi arrived with an exciting update and the film has completed a major formality. Yes! Thalaivi has been given a clean U certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and by completing this process, Thalaivi is now all set for release. This update from the makers has also come as a confirmation that Thalaivi will release only in theatres and not on any OTT platforms. When the Covid 19 situation comes under control in the country, the makers will make an announcement regarding the film's theatrical release plans. Thalaivi will have a pan Indian release in record number of theatres and it will release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

As already known, Thalaivi is the biopic of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, J Jayalalitha and the film will showcase the highs and lows of the iconic leader's life. Produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R Singh under the banner of Vibri Media, Thalaivi features Arvind Swami playing the character of MGR. Arvind Swami's makeover as MGR and Kangana's makeover as Jayalalitha is going to be one of the major highlights of Thalaivi. The film is directed by Vijay, who is known for making movies like Kireedam, Deiva Thirumagal, Thalaivaa, Saivam, and more. Apart from Kangana and Arvind Swami, the film's star cast also includes Nassar, Bhagyashree, Samuthirakani, Poorna, Thambi Ramaiah, Madhoo, Vidya Pradeep, and others.

The film will have music composed by GV Prakash Kumar who is currently in striking form. The film's cinematography has been handled by Vishal Vittal, while the editing is taken care of by Anthony and Ballu Saluja. If packaged well, Thalaivi is definitely a film that has the potential to win big among the masses and let us hope that the film strikes a chord with the Indian audience.
