American rapper, songwriter, and record producer Eminem's ex-wife, Kim Scott, was hospitalised after a suicide attempt on July 30, reports state. The 46-year-old had to be restrained by police and emergency workers who responded after a call was made about a suicidal person at Michigan. It is being stated that medical responders found it hard to assess her as she was being "combative and violent". Scott had allegedly cut herself on her legs, with blood being spilled on the floor after which authorities rushed her to the hospital for treatment and psychological examination, but had since returned home for recovery.

According to reports, Kim Scott had attempted to take her own life a week after her mother, Kathleen Sluck, passed away on July 23 at the age of 65, her obituary read. A funeral for Sluck had taken place on July 29 at the Lee-Ellena Funeral Home. Earlier, Kim's sister, Dawn Scott, died in 2016 as a result of suspected heroin overdose when she was 41. Dawn's death left Kim depressed and she stated that she would "never feel whole" again. She wrote an online condolence and said, "Dawn was my sweet, beautiful sister who lost her way. I kept a light lit for her hoping she’d find her way back to me. I miss her and love her more than anything I could ever say. I wish she was here so I could hug her and tell her I love her." She continued, "Half of me is gone and I will never feel whole again. She made me laugh and kept me on my toes. She was the best sister and friend in the world and I will miss her until we are together again."

Kim Scott and Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, were high school sweethearts and tied the knot in 1999. The couple divorced in 2001, but remarried once again on January 14, 2006 before filing for divorce a short while later in April that year. Scott and Eminem, who has starred in the 2002 blockbuster, 8 Mile, are parents to a daughter, 25-year-old Hailie Jade.
