In a shocking incident, American teenage rapper YNT Juan was murdered on Sunday evening in Hartford, Connecticut. He was only 17. Hartford Police Major Crime have launched an investigation into Juan's killing, who was found shot dead in a car that was parked only a few blocks away from his home at 89 Martin St. YNT Juan, whose real name is Juan Bautista Garcia, was discovered dead when officials arrived at the scene of the crime after gunfire was heard at around 5.30 p.m. at 258 Martin St.

An up-and-coming rap artiste, Juan released his own remix to Kanye West's Power recently and promoted it on his Instagram, which has more than 25,000 followers. Speaking to The Hartford Courant, Juan’s childhood friend Janine said, "He was only 17 years old. He never went live on his Instagram to talk about drama, he only went on there to support his friends or promote his music. [He] didn’t even get to graduate school yet." His Power remix, also released on his YouTube page, has since also been viewed more than 20,000 times.

The news of Juan's killing sent shockwaves among his fans, including many friends taking to social media to express their condolences. One user commented on his most recent Instagram post saying, "I actually believed in you from the moment we first met & made a video. & i'm grateful we did," while another prayed saying, "Sleep easy legend." A tribute was also paid by Connecticut People Records, a recording studio the late rapper worked at: "Gone But Never Forgotten @yntjuan ! Now Everybody Major Covering Your Story." 

Juan's shocking death is the latest news of a rapper passing away under violent circumstances after Indian Red Boy, a rap artist from California was shot and killed while he was live-streaming on Instagram. Likewise, Fatboi Gwalla Gwalla from Milwaukee was found dead two months back inside a burning vehicle.
