Popular Hindi television actress Ankita Lokhande's name began trending on social media this past Sunday after she posted a statement in response to recent rumours about her participation in Bigg Boss 15. To be hosted once again by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, Ankita reacted to the rumours of her entering Bigg Boss as "baseless" stating, "People have been too quick to send me their hatred for something that I'm not even a part of." Taking to Instagram, Ankita wrote, "It has come to my notice that certain sections of the media have been speculating that I will be participating in Bigg Boss this year. I would like them and everyone at large to know and make a note that I am not going to be a part of the show. The rumours of my participation are baseless." Ankita Lokhande has garnered a huge following over the years in the Hindi TV industry after she made heads turn for playing the role of Archana on the popular show, Pavitra Rishta, which also featured the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Apart from Pavitra Rishta, she has also starred in shows like Ek Thhi Naayka and Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki. Ankita had made her debut in Bollywood in 2019 in Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, while also landing an important role in Tiger Shroff's Baaghi 3. She has also participated in popular TV reality shows such as Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and Comedy Circus.

Earlier this month, Ankita's name made headlines when she remembered Sushant Singh Rajput on his first death anniversary. Posting a collage of photos featuring them together, Ankita wrote on Instagram, "14 June (heartbreak emoji) This was our journey !!!! Phir milenge chalte chalte." It is to be noted that they dated each other for six years before their split in 2016.
