Leading Tamil television channel, Zee Tamil has acquired the rights for the Tamil adaptation of the widely popular International TV show, Survivor. The Tamil edition of Survivor is currently in pre production stages and work is apparently progressing at a brisk pace. Reports suggest that the Tamil edition will also be titled Survivor, but an official word is awaited. The concept of Survivor show is that it will bring 15 - 16 contestants together and they will be made to stay inside an isolated island. The contestants would be given only limited resources to survive and they will have to find different ways to survive in the game. The contestants will have to perform several tasks to get their food, and other essentials.

There will also be eliminations, but details regarding the concept of elimination are yet to be known. The Tamil edition of Survivor is expected to be shot in a foreign island. It is also added that the contestants will spend close to 100 days inside the island and the last surviving contestant would be declared as the winner of the show. Going by these updates, it looks like Survivor Tamil will prove to be a good competition for Bigg Boss, in which contestants spend 100 days inside a house. The idea looks exciting and if packaged well, Survivor Tamil will be a great source of entertainment for the people of Tamil Nadu.

The original, International edition has completed 40 seasons until now. The Indian edition of Survivor (in Hindi) was launched in 2012 and it was hosted by Sameer Kochhar. However, the show did not continue after that. Raj Rani was declared as the winner of the first and only edition of Survivor in Hindi. It has been close to 10 years and the show is now coming to Tamil. Several notable television and film personalities are said to be in talks for participating as contestants in the show.

Additional reports also claim that the makers of the show are in talks with Silambarasan TR to host the show. If STR is going to host the Tamil version of Survivor, it is surely going to be exciting. Further updates are awaited. Stay tuned to this space for more updates.
