One of the busiest actors currently in Tamil cinema, 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi has several big films lined up ahead among which include Delhi Prasad Deenadayal's Tughlaq Durbar, late director S. P. Jananathan's Laabam, Seenu Ramasamy's Maamanithan, Kadaisi Vivasayi under Kaaka Muttai fame M. Manikandan's direction and Mumbaikar, an official remake of Maanagaram directed by acclaimed cinematographer Santosh Sivan, which incidentally will mark his Bollywood debut. Having delivered a thumping performance as the antagonist in 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Master earlier this year, Vijay Sethupathi was also recently announced to be a part of Kamal Haasan and Fahadh Faasil-starrer Vikram under Lokesh Kanagaraj's direction and is starring in Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai, Vignesh Shivan's Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal, Sun Pictures' tentatively titled VJS 46, the multilingual silent film Gandhi Talks, veteran filmmaker R. Sundarrajan's son Deepak Sundarajan’s directorial debut opposite Taapsee Pannu and the Malayalam venture 19(1)(a) with Nithya Menen; all of which are under various stages of development

Among the promising list of films, Vijay Sethupathi's highly-anticipated Tughlaq Durbar produced by Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studios has been carrying tremendous expectations and excitement ever since it was announced. A political satire, the upcoming film marks the directorial debut of Delhi Prasad Deenadayal featuring music by 96 composer Govind Vasantha, with the makers on Monday dropping an important update about the audio release plans. The official 7 Screen Studios Twitter page has tweeted that the Tughlaq Durbar audio will be releasing on August 18 at 6 p.m. and marks the first big step in the film's promotions, especially after an engaging teaser was released earlier this year as a Pongal treat.

Tughlaq Durbar has Vijay Sethupathi paired opposite Raashi Khanna for the second time after Sangathamizhan in 2019, with Manjima Mohan cast as the versatile actor's sister. Actor-filmmaker R. Parthiepan is said to be playing the antagonist, with Bigg Boss Tamil season 4 fame Samyuktha Karthik and Karunakaran set to appear in pivotal roles.
