One film that has been carrying massive excitement right from the moment it was announced last year, 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Beast is scaling new heights with each passing day. Being directed by Nelson Dilipkumar of Kolamaavu Kokila fame, the upcoming mass action entertainer coming out under the prestigious Sun Pictures banner had its first look poster released ahead of Vijay's birthday last month and has since then received a staggering response online. The first Beast poster is now officially the most-liked first look poster on Twitter, with more than 312,000 likes going past the previous record held by Vijay's Master first look, which achieved over 310,400 likes. The Beast first look poster has also now equalled the record being held by the Master third look poster, which was the first time both Vijay and 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi's seismic face-off was teased.

Launched in March this year, Beast, which had completed its first schedule in Georgia, is currently being filmed in Chennai, with the team already completing a song shoot with Vijay and the film's heroine Pooja Hegde, who incidentally is making her Tamil cinema comeback after her debut in Mysskin's Mugamoodi nearly a decade back. The hype around Beast is huge considering the film also includes 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander, who is collaborating with Vijay once again after delivering chart-buster tunes and thunderous background scores in Kaththi (2014) and Master earlier this year.

With the Beast first look receiving such a gargantuan response, it would not be surprising for a similar outpouring of love to be witnessed when the team unveils more promotional material in the days ahead. The feedback to Vijay's Master theatrical release stunned filmmakers and producers around the country as it went on to revive the theatre business, including the movie-watching experience on the big screen, especially when the pandemic had left the industry in shambles. Although no release date has been announced for Beast as yet, there are strong speculations the team will be looking to complete the shooting by the end of this year and bring it out as a grand treat for Vijay fans in theatres in 2022.
