Veteran Tamil actor and politician, Karthik has been admitted to a private hospital in Chennai after he complained of having breathing issues. Recently, Karthik campaigned for his good friend and actress turned politician Khushbu Sundar, requesting people to vote for her, and during the campaign, he suffered from breathing issues and he was immediately rushed to Malar Fortis Hospital in Adyar, Chennai, through an ambulance. Khushbu Sundar is contesting in the Thousand Lights constituency, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). It was only during the campaigning, Karthik had breathing problems. Once he was taken to the hospital, he was given medical treatment.

Details regarding his current health condition are awaited, but it is said that he is said to be doing fine now. Karthik also underwent Covid 19 test and fortunately, the results turned out to be negative. More details are awaited. The pictures of Karthik getting treatment at the hospital are now doing rounds on social media and it has been garnering the attention of the netizens. The fans and people of Tamil Nadu are praying for the speedy recovery of Karthik and we also hope he returns to normalcy very soon.

On the acting front, Karthik will be seen playing an important role in Andhagan, the Tamil remake of the Hindi blockbuster hit, Andhadhun. Top Star Prashanth plays the male lead in Andhagan which is directed and produced by Thiagarajan under the banner of Staar Movies. Andhagan will feature Priya Anand as the female lead, reprising Radhika Apte's role, while ace actress Simran will be reprising Tabu's character. The shooting of Andhagan began in the beginning of this month and the makers are busily canning some of the important scenes in the film.

Karthik has also acted in a Tamil film titled Thee Ivan which is currently in production stages. Karthik was last seen playing a cameo in Karthi's romantic drama, Dev, directed by Rajath Ravishankar. As a full fledged role, Karthik's last film in Tamil cinema was Mr Chandramouli in which he shared screen space with his son and actor Gautham Karthik for the first time. The film was directed by Thiru of Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai and Naan Sigappu Manithan fame and produced by G Dhananjayan.
