Leading Tamil actor Silambarasan TR's name has been in the news over the past few days after he began filming his next venture titled Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu with blockbuster director Gautham Menon under Dr. Ishari K Ganesh's Vels Film International banner and music by Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman. With filming on Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu currently progressing at a brisk pace, Simbu's name had cropped up regarding the red card controversy a couple of years over the past few days. After the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) headed by Vishal had issued STR a red card regarding the issues surrounding the release of Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan (2017) produced by Michael Rayappan and directed by Aadhik Ravichandran, the multi-talented actor's mother Usha Rajendran on Thursday released a video to speak about the issues being faced by her son.

Usha Rajendran, who appears in the video, informs viewers stating that Silambarasan had completed all the formalities for the release of Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan, including allowing producer Michael Rayappan to release the film despite a portion of his salary not being paid. She added that producer Rayappan had not even paid the GST for AAA and TDS, with a cheque issued also getting bounced.

Speaking further about the issue, Usha Rajendran stated that actor Vishal, who was the President of the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) at the time, had issued an order stating that Michael Rayappan had sustained losses after his film's release and that Simbu should act in a film for free without any salary. If STR did not act in that film, he would have to pay Rs. 2.40 crores to Michael Rayappan, Usha Rajendran said. She stated the decision had been taken without the consent of either Simbu or any of his family members, while going on to lash out against Vishal in the remainder of the video asking whether he is a judge at the Supreme Court. She then questions asking if there's no opportunity for an individual to make an appeal and states that basic right is being denied by Vishal.
