Silambarasan TR's Maanaadu is in the final stages of production and the makers are just with one small schedule to be completed. The film has got phenomenal expectations among the fans and film buffs and it is surely an important film to watch out for. Maanaadu is a political drama which features Simbu in the character of Abdul Khaaliq. SJ Surya will be seen as the main antagonist of the film and his face off against Simbu is going to be one of the major highlights. Kalyani Priyadarshan plays the female lead, while the star cast also includes the likes of Bharathiraja, SA Chandrasekhar, Y Gee Mahendran, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, Manoj Bharathiraja, Daniel Annie Pope, and others.

Produced by Suresh Kamatchi, the film has music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja who has a fantastic success ratio with both Simbu and Venkat Prabhu. Richard M Nathan and Praveen KL have handled the cinematography and editing departments respectively. Meanwhile the fans are all excited about the release of the first single which will be out on June 21, coming Monday. The full song will be released at 12.06 PM on the said date and the song is written by Madhan Karky.

Ahead of the song's release the makers have released the promo teaser which sounds promising and interesting. The song is called 'Meherezylaa' and it looks to be a fun-filled number that has a catchy tune to attract the masses. The visuals of this song will feature STR and Kalyani Priyadarshan and their pairing is going to look fresh on screen. The song sounds refreshing and it seems to be a potential feast for music lovers. The song is crooned by Yuvan Shankar Raja and his sister, Bhavatharini.

The music rights of Maanaadu have been snapped by Yuvan Shankar Raja's own music label, U1 Records. The makers are tentatively planning to release the film for this year's Aayudha Pooja festival weekend, but the plan will be finalized only after knowing about the Covid 19 situation.
