Dhanush's Pattas had a grand release in January on the occasion of the Pongal festival alongside Rajinikanth's Darbar and the film opened to mixed reviews from fans and the critics. Dhanush and director RS Durai Senthilkumar teamed up for the second time for Pattas and the movie was produced by TG Thyagarajan under the banner of Sathya Jyothi Films. Dhanush played dual roles in the film which had two gorgeous ladies Sneha and Mahreen Pirzada as lady leads. Names like Munishkanth, Naveen Chandra and Sathish played other important roles in the movie. The cinematography was handled by Om Prakash and the editing was taken care by Prakash Mabbu.
