Director Karthik Subbaraj has been regularly sharing updates from his next film, Chiyaan 60 starring Chiyaan Vikram and Dhruv Vikram in the lead roles. Having said that, it has now been officially announced that actor Muthukumar will be playing a pivotal character in the Vikram starrer and the announcement was made by director Karthik Subbaraj. For the uninitiated, Muthukumar is a budding actor in Tamil cinema who garnered attention with his brief character in Superstar Rajinikanth's Petta. Muthukumar was seen in the flashback portion of Petta and it is going to be interesting to see him in Chiyaan 60. Muthukumar had also acted in Karthik Subbaraj's segment titled Miracle in the Amazon Prime Video's anthology film, Putham Pudhu Kaalai.

After working in Petta and Putham Pudhu Kaalai, Muthukumar has now joined Karthik Subbaraj once again in Chiyaan 60. As we had already said, director Karthik seems to pick actors from his previous collaborations and it is evident through the names of the actors that are part of the film. Bobby Simha, Sananth have also been roped in to play important roles. Ace actress Simran and Vani Bhojan play the female leads and if reports are to be believed, Simran is said to be paired opposite Chiyaan Vikram and Vani is paired opposite Dhruv.

Produced by Lalit Kumar (co-producer of Thalapathy Vijay's Master) under the banner of 7 Screen Studios, Chiyaan 60 has music scored by Santhosh Narayanan. Karthik Subbaraj and Santhosh Narayanan are known to have delivered several chartbuster songs and their combination has worked wonders. The magical duo will be looking forward to continuing the momentum with Chiyaan 60 as well. Considering the fact that the real life father and son are acting together for the first time, the fans have got huge expectations over Chiyaan 60 and it is surely going to have a grand opening at the box office. Chiyaan 60 is touted to be an intense action-gangster drama which happens to be Karthik Subbaraj's forte.

The young and talented filmmaker is also eagerly awaiting the release of his next film, Jagame Thandhiram that stars Dhanush in the lead role. Jagame Thandhiram will have a direct OTT release on Netflix platform. The fans were highly disappointed by the makers' plan to release it on the digital platform since everyone expected it to have a theatrical release.
