Maanaadu producer Suresh Kamatchi questions Trisha for avoiding Paramapatham Vilaiyattu promotions
Trisha's Paramapatham Vilaiyattu has been a project that has taken quite a long time to see the light of the day and is finally all set for its theatrical release on February 28. Directed by debutant Thirugnanam, the upcoming political thriller revolves around a doctor played by Trisha, who gets entangled in a political nexus after a politician is admitted in her hospital for treatment. Produced under the 24 HRS Productions banner, the film also stars Baby Manasvi, AL Azhagappan, Richard, Nandha and features music by Amrish.
With less than a week left for the film to arrive in theatres, a pre-release event for Paramapatham Vilaiyattu was held in Chennai earlier today with the cast and crew participating with the exception of the lead star, Trisha Krishnan. Her absence drew quite a lot of negative opinions from the guests who had gathered for the special occasion and one among them was producer Suresh Kamatchi, who is making the upcoming mass political entertainer, Maanaadu, with Simbu in the lead role.
Speaking at the event, Suresh Kamatchi said, "Thirugnanam has made Paramapatham Vilaiyattu like an experienced director despite the film being just his debut venture. And, I'm sure this film is going to turn out to be yet another memorable one to remember from Trisha's career. However, of late, I've not been able to understand why many leading actors are choosing to not attend promotional events and rather choose to skip it? When superstars like Rajinikanth sir and Vijay sir are promoting their films, why are you not being responsible? You have been booked for a film only because you are highly popular. If you don't participate in these promotions, how will the media cover these events? Please understand that this is only your responsibility. Otherwise, we can make films with so many aspiring youngsters who want to enter cinema,".
The Maanaadu producer further added, "When we pay you the salary you have asked for, we too believe you'll be coming for these events, speak about the film and promote it to a wider audience. What is the problem in meeting fans and the media, who have only helped so much in your career's growth? So, I humbly request all stars to come forward for promotions because it will help the film as well as the producers quite a lot,".
