In a shocking incident, popular Kannada actor Yathiraj was involved in a freak road accident on Thursday at around 12 pm on the Bangalore-Hyderabad highway. Traveling in his high-end BMW car, Yathiraj lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a tree on the outskirts of Chikkaballapur. Visuals of Yathiraj's car, which was badly damaged, were shown on Kannada news channels following the serious collision. Fortunately, there were no victims in the crash and Yathiraj survived the accident with only minor injuries.

New reports have confirmed that Yathiraj had been rushed to a nearby government hospital and was provided treatment for his injuries. Yathiraj, who is the younger son of popular Kannada actor Jaggesh and the brother of actor Gururaj, was travelling alone at the time of accident. He ventured into acting following the footsteps of his father and brother appearing in supporting roles in films like Bullet Basya and Gosi Gang.

Meanwhile, Jaggesh will next be seen in the Gururprasad directorial Ranganayaka, which will head into shooting by July 15, with the team stating that they could have completed the film and had it ready for release if there was no COVID-19 lockdown. The filmmaker had stated that he and Jaggesh are eager to start the film's production, which marks their third-time collaboration after Eddelu Manjunath and Matta and will be made under the Vikyath Chitra banner.
