Times are tough for governments and people across the world and the same can be said about India as well as the nation has been under a lockdown for a second week after Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed people to avoid not venturing out in the open till April 14 owing to the coronavirus pandemic. With social distancing and self-isolation the need of the hour due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak, PM Modi had once again addressed the nation yesterday (April 3) and requested everyone to light candles, diyas and use flashlights on the tenth day of the lockdown on April 5 at 9PM. PM Modi's speech has evoked several reactions across the nation including actor turned politician Kamal Haasan too expressing his views on his social networking pages.

Taking to his Twitter page, Kamal Haasan issued a statement saying, "I was expecting a lot as our Prime Minister was going to speak. Expected him to address issues such as medical safety equipment, distribution of essential goods, the livelihood of the poor and decisions on the revival of the economy in the future, instead he spoke about the torch we had taken up a long time back,".
