CONTROVERSY: Jayashree Rao alleges affair between husband and serial actress Mahalakshmi

It has come as a major shock to many in the Tamil television industry when popular TV actor Eashwar Raghunath was arrested and jailed after his wife, Jayashree Rao, stated to the police that she was physically attacked by him. Although it was initially believed that the couple had been fighting after Eashwar had pledged his wife’s property worth thirty lakhs to procure loans, Jayashree has now made allegations stating he has been involved in an affair with actress Mahalakshmi, who plays the antagonist in the Tamil serial, Devathaiyai Kandein, which has him in the role of the hero.

An actress and dancer turned choreographer herself, Jayashree, has in her statement to the police said she and Eashwar Raghunath had gotten married four years back and now have a girl child. She then added that Eashwar was an alcoholic before they had gotten married and has now been in a relationship with his co-actress over the past few months and added he would make video calls and speak intimately right in front of her and their child. In her allegations, Jayashree added that Mahalakshmi is married and has a son whom Eashwar insists to call him as his father. Furthermore, she states that the actor would often get drunk and physically hurt her asking for a divorce so he can get married once again and also said Eashwar had attempted to get physical with their daughter and also urinated on the child.
