Director Gautham Vasudev Menon’s web series - Queen, which released last year, got a rousing reception from the fans and general audience. The series was praised for its top class performances from the actors and neat execution by GVM and director Prasath Murugesan. Queen, which is loosely based on the real life incidents of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, starred Ramya Krishnan, Anjana Jayaprakash, and Anikha Surendran in the lead roles. During the release of Queen, Gautham Menon had promised that the sequel to Queen will be made soon.

It looks like he will be keeping up to his words and deliver us the sequel very soon. In a recent interview with a popular media house, Gautham Menon confirmed that the pre-production works for Queen: Season 2 is in progress and his team is busy with the scripting of the series. This sequel is said to focus on the political journey of Shakthi Seshadri. It is not yet clear if director Prasath Murugesan, who directed a few episodes in Queen, will be a part of the sequel as well.

Gautham Menon currently has two projects in hand - Joshua: Imai Pol Kaakha and Chiyaan Vikram’s Dhruva Natchathiram which are in different stages of production. GVM is also in talks with Kamal Haasan for the sequel of Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. Wait! The stylish filmmaker is also in discussion with Suriya for a musical romantic film. Well, it looks like GVM has his hands full!
