There have been many awards ceremonies which have been conducted by various institutions. There have been separate awards for people from movies, serials, radio channels and other internet platforms. However, just like all our other pioneering ventures, Galatta Media came up with the Galatta Nakshatra Awards, in 2018. This event was the very first time that achievers from the field of TV, radio and online platforms on the same stage. The second edition of this mega event was held on October 19th at the Anna Centenary Library and this ceremony turned out to become an even bigger success than the first edition. Many leading stars from different TV channels took the stage and the winners, chosen by the votes of the viewers, received their awards from even more illustrious presenters.

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan's special entry was the highlight of the evening and he presented the 'Most Impactful Celebrity on Social Media' Award to RJ Balaji. The evening had all the glitz and glamour of a top-notch awards ceremony and all the guests, winners and presenters had a gala time. In a record of sorts, Galatta Media went a step further and conducted the very next awards ceremony on the very next day - October 20th (Sunday), at the same venue. This Wonder Women (WoW) Awards, to felicitate 5 generations of women achievers in the field of cinema, turned out to become a blockbuster. The event was graced by the likes of Sowcar Janaki, Sachu, KR Vijaya, Latha, Simran, Nadhiya, Ambika, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Suganya, Meena, Sangeetha Vijay, Archana Kalpathi, Shruti Haasan, Keerthy Suresh, Nivetha Pethuraj, Sayyeshaa, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Dayana Erappa and many other leading stars.

The presenters at this event included Atlee, Siruthai Siva, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Yugi Sethu, Malar Vasanth of Vasanth & Co, Dr. Sethuraman of Zi Clinic and a number of others. The housefull crowd at the event had an amazing evening and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. This event marked the first ever time that Sangeetha Vijay was attending without Thalapathy Vijay and she was awarded with the 'Unheralded Commander' Award on stage. This is the first ever time that such an event is being held for women achievers in the field of Cinema and all those present, were waxing eloquent on the idea behind the event and its execution. Both the #GNA2019 and #WoWGalatta2019 events were conducted in association with Colors Tamil TV and this association will go on for a long time to come!
