Ilaiyaraja has as strong a fan following in Tollywood, as he has in Tamil cinema. Now, we have an update that he will be reuniting with a top Tollywood director after a period of over two decades! Yes! Ilaiyaraja will be scoring the music for popular Telugu director Krishna Vamsi 's next project, which has been titled Ranga Marthanda! The duo last worked together in the 1998 movie Anthapuram.

Tollywood audiences have been waiting for quite a while to see what director Vamsi would do next as his last movie was the 2017 movie Nakshatram, which had Sundeep Kishan in the lead and Sai Dharam Tej in an extended cameo. Krishna Vamsi's Ranga Marthanda is said to be the remake of the acclaimed Marathi movie Natsamrat, directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. This family drama is based on a retired actor dividing his property between his two children only for them to abandon him and his wife in their old age.

Ranga Marthanda is set to star Prakashraj and director Vamsi Krishna's wife Ramya Krishnan, in the lead. This movie will mark the third collaboration between Vamsi and Ramya Krishnan. They first came together for the 1998 movie Chandralekha, before they got married. The second time they came together was when Ramya Krishnan appeared in a cameo in Krishna Vamsi's Sri Anjaneyam, in 2004. Meanwhile, Ramya Krishnan is also shooting for the Telugu movie Romantic and has a number of other Tamil movies in hand.
