Dhanush and director Mari Selvaraj will be joining hands once again after the phenomenal success of Karnan and the official announcement regarding the project was made, this morning. The announcement has come as a big surprise to all the fans and film buffs and it surely tells us the love and admiration that Dhanush has for Mari Selvaraj and his craft. Dhanush was seen actively promoting Karnan on social media, right from its first look poster, and it looks like he wants to continue the association with Mari for a longer time. Taking to his Twitter page, Dhanush tweeted, "Elated to announce that after the blockbuster success of Karnan, Mari Selvaraj and myself are joining hands once again. Pre production going on, Shoot will commence next year.".

Karnan which released two weeks before opened to an outstanding reception from the critics and fans and it turned out to be a sensational hit at the box office. The film was raved by the audience for its strong content, highly impactful performances, and Mari Selvaraj's conviction over his filmmaking craft. Karnan gave a high amount of scope for Dhanush to perform, as an actor and it is going to be exciting to see him once again in a Mari Selvaraj film. We are yet to get clarity whether Kalaippuli S Thanu will produce the film and an official word is awaited. The rest of the cast and crew are also yet to be disclosed.

As Dhanush says, Mari should currently be busy with the pre-production works, getting ready to start the film's shoot, next year. Mari Selvaraj's next directorial venture will star Dhruv Vikram in the lead role and it will be produced by Pa Ranjith (Neelam Productions), who produced Mari's debut film, Pariyerum Perumal. The Mari Selvaraj - Dhruv Vikram film is in the final stages of pre-production and it will go on floors very soon. Once the film gets completed, Mari is expected to start the work on his new film with Dhanush. The Maari actor is currently shooting for his International project, The Gray Man in Los Angeles and he is expected to return to India by the end of May or early June.

Dhanush's upcoming lineup of films other than The Gray Man includes D43 with Karthick Naren, Naane Varuven with Selvaraghavan, an untitled film with Ramkumar (of Ratsasan fame), D44 with Sun Pictures, and an untitled film with Vetri Maaran.
