President Ram Nath Kovind's wife, Savita Kovind, has stitched face masks in the fight against coronavirus at Shakti Haat in the President’s Estate, which are to be distributed across Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board's various shelter homes. First Lady Savita Kovind herself was seen wearing a red mask and covering her face with the image going viral on social media in quick time. This latest effort from India's First Lady has once again informed citizens that all are together in the ongoing battle against the COVID-19 virus, which last left more than 21,000 people testing positive in the country with over 600 deaths reported so far and 4,000+ people managing a recovery and subsequently getting discharged for their homes.

Medical officials, health workers and experts have been reiterating the message to the people to continue adopting social distancing and other protective and preventive measures along with wearing face masks to safeguard themselves against the coronavirus. A majority of the masks are cloth masks, which are three-layered surgical masks and a N95 respirator that aid in containing the spread of the COVID-19 virus, which have been described as an effective methods to tackle the disease, which has claimed over 1,80,000 lives worldwide while leaving more than 2.5 million testing positive.
