Dhanush's critically acclaimed blockbuster hit, Asuran, directed by Vetri Maaran, is remade in Telugu as Narappa and it features Venkatesh Daggubati in the lead role. The Telugu remake has got huge expectations not just from the Telugu audience, but also among the Tamil people, as many of them are looking forward to seeing how the film is made in the Telugu version. Narappa is produced by Suresh Productions in association with Kalaipuli S Thanu's V Creations. Narappa is directed by Srikanth Addala and has music composed by Mani Sharma. Shyam K Naidu and Marthand K Venkatesh have handled the film's cinematography and editing respectively.

Earlier today (June 29), the makers made a new announcement revealing that the film has been censored with a U/A certificate. A new picture from the film was also released alongside the censor announcement. For the last few days, there have been wide speculations claiming that Narappa will have a direct OTT release on Amazon Prime Video and the news worried the fans. We will have to wait for a few more days to know if the film will have a theatrical release or an OTT release. Let us keep our fingers crossed until then.

Priyamani plays the female lead in this film, reprising Manju Warrier's role, while Prakash Raj, Karthik Rathnam, Murali Sharma, Rao Ramesh, Sampath Raj would be seen in supporting roles. Reports suggest that a few changes have been made to the remake version to suit the taste of the regional audience, but we will have to wait and see the film to arrive at conclusions. Asuran is a film that struck a chord with the Tamil audience and let us hope that the essence of the film is maintained in Narappa as well.
