Amitabh Bachchan's family bereaved as his daughter Shweta's mother-in-law is no more!

The Big B - Amitabh Bachchan has just recovered from some severe illness and is still recovering but his family has been saddened by a death. Amitabh has two children - his son Abhishek and daughter Shweta. It is common knowledge that Abhishek Bachchan is married to Aishwarya Rai and Shweta is married to Nikhil Nanda. Nikhil Nanda is the son of industrialist Rajan Nanda and Ritu, who happens to be the daughter of legendary actor Raj Kapoor and the elder sister of actors Rishi Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor. Ritu Nanda, who had been battling cancer for nearly seven years, succumbed to the deadly disease.

Amitabh Bachchan posted about Ritu Nanda's demise on his social media page and he & Aishwarya Rai were spotted at a private airfield, on their way to New Delhi for the funeral. Abhishek Bachchan, Shweta's daughter Navya Naveli and son Agastya were also reportedly part of the gathering at Ritu Nanda's funeral, which happened at the Lodhi Road Cremation Ground, in Delhi. The funeral is said to have happened around 1:30 pm. Members of the Kapoor clan, including Rishi, Randhir and Rajiv, also took part in the funeral and paid their last respects to Ritu Nanda.

Ranbir Kapoor's sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni expressed her condolences through a social media post, after her mother Neetu Kapoor broke the news of Ritu Nanda's demise with an Instagram post of her own. Some reports state that Karan Johan and Gauri Khan were also spotted rushing to Delhi, to express their solidarity with Shweta and Nikhil's family.
