The Tamil comedy-based cooking competition show, Cooku with Comali, airing on Vijay Television has garnered a huge fan following over the course of its four seasons since it was first launched back in 2019. The show also streaming on Disney+ Hotstar gained popularity during its re-telecast in the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 and is set to kickstart its fifth season soon. Prior to the beginning of Cooku with Comali season 5, chef Venkatesh Bhat had announced that he was exiting the show to take a break, while informing that he would come back with a different concept.
Ever since Bhat announced his departure from Cooku with Comali, there has been much debate as to who would step in as his replacement, with Vijay TV making the big announcement on Monday, March 18. The Tamil broadcasting giant surprised viewers with a launch promo for the much loved cooking show's upcoming fifth season revealing actor Madhampatty Rangaraj to be coming in as one of the judges. The Cooku with Comali 5 promo starts off showing a chartered flight with the show's logo adorned on its side. Chef Damu then steps out of the aircraft first and Madhampatty Rangaraj gets introduced following which the duo join hands signaling their new partnership.
There is quite a lot of buzz surrounding Cooku with Comali season 5 and all sights will now be set on how Madhampatty Rangaraj steps in to create the same excitement as chef Venkatesh Bhat, who was a major power force in driving the show forward. Tamil cinema fans know Madhampatty Rangaraj best for his role as the lead in Mehandi Circus (2019), which earned him acclaim for his performance, while also featuring in the Keerthy Suresh- starrer Penguin (2020).
