It is common for gambling to turn into an addiction and some people would gamble on anything, including sports, games, day-to-day events or major world events! However, with the outbreak of the COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus Pandemic, everything has become uncertain and gambling addicts are making use of this too. The all important NEET and JEE exams which determine the future of students and their careers have been in limbo, considering the widespread effects of the deadly corona virus. Now, gamblers have been betting on the prospects the JEE and NEET exams happening!

The NEET and JEE exams are scheduled to happen next month but the All India Students Association (AISA) has written to the Chief Ministers of all states, requesting them to invoke the State Disaster Management Act to postpone or cancel the exams and this has been the talk of the town, across the nation. The subject is raging in all quarters but there has been a team who have been betting on the outcome. Gamblers have been betting on whether the NEET and JEE exams would be postponed or not and the Uttar Pradesh Police have busted such a ring, in Kanpur. 

Kanpur police busted a gang of people who were placing bets on whether the NEET and JEE exams would be postponed or not. The bust involved the arrest of seven people and the Police recovered Rs. 38.25 lakhs cash along with 10 mobile phones. However, reports state that the kingpin of the gambling ring escaped from the Police. The ring has also been placing bets on a lot of other events. On August 17th, the Supreme Court of India had refused to intervene in the JEE and NEET exams, which are scheduled to take place in September. The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) is supposed to be held from September 1st to 6th and the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is scheduled to happen from September 13th!
