For long, the glitz and glamour of cinema has been associated with a darker side which involves drugs and other dark secrets. The unfortunate death of Sushant Singh Rajput to suicide has stirred up quite a hornet's nest in Bollywood with some speculations of drugs and various Bollywood celebrities being involved. Close on the heels of this issue has come a drug bust in Bengaluru which allegedly involves some Sandalwood actors music directors! The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has busted a drug ring in Bengaluru and the peddlers are believed to be supplying to many VIPs and Sandalwood celebrities too.

This latest bust by NCB has involved the arrest of the racket kingpin and former television actress Anika D, along with two of her associates - R Ravindran and M Anoop, also involving a huge haul of drugs. KPS Malhotra - the Deputy Director of NCB has stated that the gang had been distributing drugs to top actors and prominent musicians in Karnataka, including some VIPs and their children. All those suspected to be involved are currently under the NCB scanner who are investigating the people with ties to the gang they have busted.

Reports state that the drug bust recovered 145 pills of Ecstacy or MDMA and over Rs. 2.2 lakhs cash from the Royal Suits Hotel Apartment in Kalyan Nagar. Following up on this, a further bust recovered 96 MDMA pills and 180 LSD blots at the Nikoo Homes, also in Bengaluru. Following this, 270 pills of MDMA were also recovered from Anika D's house in Doddagubbi! Reports state that after customers placed their orders online, Ravindran would distribute it to them. NCB's investigation revealed Ravindran's mobile phone to contain thousands of customers' numbers, including over those of Sandalwood actors, musicians and VIP children. Anika was a small time TV actor, who took to distributing drugs after stopping her acting career. She is said to have used her industry connections to help with the drug distribution.
