Ramesh Thilak is a popular radio jockey turned actor who has appeared in Tamil and Malayalam films. He made his breakthrough with Nalan Kumarasamy's Soodhu Kavvum portraying a kidnaper, before playing a similar role of a thief in Alphonse Putharen's bilingual film Neram. He has played a pivotal role in Thalapathy Vijay’s Master. During a recent interaction with Galatta, Ramesh Thilak has shared his working experience with Vijay at the sets of Master:

“Master is more of a Lokesh Kanagaraj data-style film, though it will have plenty of moments that will satisfy Vijay fans but this is not the usual mass hero movie. You will see a Vijay that you have not seen to date, I guarantee you that. I was supposed to act with Vijay once earlier but couldn’t then I almost had a chance to feature in Bigil but again that didn’t happen. When Lokesh was offered to direct Vijay, I called him personally and requested him to give me a role. He told he will definitely use me and that’s how I got on board.

My first schedule for Master happened in Shimoga, and when I met Vijay sir, I asked him for a hug and that became a routine before every day’s shoot. We used to talk a lot and those conversations have helped me to become a better person. He is such a cool person and I had the opportunity to work with him for 32 days. There was this memorable scene when Vijay sir finished his performance, the whole unit was clapping for 10 minutes. I was stunned, I had no idea how did he pull off such a tough scene with the utmost ease. I was discussing that performance of Vijay for 3 days. I even went and spoke to Vijay Sethupathi, I told that Vijay sir is ‘maha nadigan,’ he proved that I am no one in front of his acting prowess on that day. You will know which scene I am talking about while watching.”
