Chennai: With a padma Vibhushan laurate claiming that Hindu Tantric 'scientists' were capable of resurrecting the dead by citing the anecdote, we know that India now is devided into people of science and religion. We now google everybody's claims to make sure it is not pseudo science. However, people are pretty stumped on how to react, after news came out that the staff of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad were dressing up as bears to scare away monkeys from runways. This probably is the most hilarious thing you'll watch on Internet today:

अगर अगली बार अहमदाबाद एयरपोर्ट पर आप भालू को अपने आसपास घूमते देखें तो घबराइयेगा नही क्योंकि ये कोई और नहीं बल्कि भालू के वेश में एयरपोर्ट के कर्मचारी हैं जिन्हें एयरपोर्ट पर लंगूरों को भगाने के लिए रखा गया है। है ना अद्भुद तरीका!!! @indiatvnews @AAI_Official @DGCAIndia pic.twitter.com/k7KlcojCuA

The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad was in news in April 2019 after a group of langurs reached a few runways, causing two flight diversions and delay in the schedules of 10 other flights. Following this, the authorities were reportedly trying to find a permanent solution to the animal menace.

According to sources, langurs turn up at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Airport every day at a particular time, without fail. The Logical Indian reported that the staff had resorted to this measure after 'meticulous planning' which involved "studying the behaviour of langurs, seeking opinions of wildlife experts, identifying what scares the animals and then working on the animal chasing techniques."

"Since we have a dedicated staff at the airport to scare away birds and animals that can endanger the safety of planes and passengers, we thought of employing them to pose as bears and scare away the simians. The langurs are fast despite being quite heavy. They could pose danger to aircraft. We are expecting good results," The Ahmedabad Mirror quoted Airport Director Manoj Gangal as saying.
