One of the best films that released in 2018 was debtu Mari Selvaraj's Pariyerum Perumal. Soon after the movie's release, Dhanush took to Twitter, to announce that he would be working with Mari Selvaraj next. The movie is yet to be titled and will be produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu's V Creations. We had recently contacted the director regarding the untitled project's updates and learnt that the scripting of the movie has been completed and the movie will go on floors in the end of August, this year.

In an interview with us, director Mari Selvaraj informed that this flick with Dhanush, will be a realistic life based story as like his debut movie. He also said that the cast and crew of the movie are yet to be decided. Pariyerum Perumal was produced by the filmmaker Pa. Ranjith, which details on caste issues in Tamil Nadu and was widely appreciated for its raw content.

Director Pa Ranjith turned into a producer last year through Pariyerum Perumal that was a big success. This Mari Selvaraj directorial received highly positive reviews from the audience and the critics. The film was raved for its strong content and honest filmmaking with no commercial compromises. Pariyerum Perumal also fetched numerous awards and accolades.

The success of the film lead Pa Ranjith to announce his second film as a producer, titled Irandam Ulaga Porin Kadaisi Gundu with Attakathi Dinesh playing the male lead. Meanwhile, we now have some exciting details on Ranjith's third production venture. This untitled film is said to have Madras fame Harikrishnan in the lead role and it is expected to be directed by a debutante. Harikrishnan rose to fame with his eccentric character, Johnny, in Karthi starrer Madras. He went onto bag important roles in biggies such as Kabali, Vishal's Sandakozhi 2 and Dhanush's Vada Chennai.

As like Ranjith's Pariyerum Perumal, this film is also expected to be a content driven. On the directorial front, Pa Ranjith is busy with the pre-production works of his Bollywood debut. He will be directing the biopic of Indian tribal leader, Birsa Munda. This film is expected to go on floors from May.

Actor Kathir is a happy man and is scaling new heights post the critical and commercial success of his Pariyerum Perumal earlier this year. Apart from his upcoming film, Sigai, we had reported last week that he is now also a part of Y Not Studios’ next project.

Meanwhile, sources close to us have now revealed that Kathir will be joined by National Award-winning actor Samuthirakani in the Y Not Studios film.

As of now, details on the project’s director including the cast and crew are unknown with an official announcement expected to be made in the days ahead. Samuthirakani has had a fantastic year with performances in films most notably in ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth’s action social drama, Kaala and Vetrimaaran’s action gangster drama, Vada Chennai, alongside Dhanush.

Actor Kathir hit the jackpot after his breakthrough performance in Pariyerum Perumal released not long back. The up-and-coming actor also delivered a memorable performance in last year’s multi-starrer blockbuster, Vikram Vedha and is at present awaiting the release of his next film titled Sigai.

That said, sources close to use have now revealed Kathir will be working on a film next to be produced by Y Not Studios. It must be noted the production house has tasted massive success in 2017 with Vikram Vedha and this year with the smash hit, Tamizh Padam 2.

As of now, not much is known about the upcoming project’s director as well as the rest of the cast and crew. However, we expect an announcement to follow suit in the days ahead.

Pariyerum Perumal, produced by Pa.Ranjith and directed by Mari Selvaraj is considered as one of the best Tamil movies of this year. Kathir and Anandhi played as the lead-pair in this flick.
