Dhanush's critically acclaimed blockbuster hit film, Asuran, directed by Vetri Maaran, is remade in Telugu as Narappa and the film is all set for release. Narappa will be releasing on July 20 and owing to the current Covid 19 situation, the film will have a direct OTT release on Amazon Prime Video. Narappa features ace Telugu actor Venkatesh in the lead role, reprising Dhanush's character, while Priyamani plays the female lead. Narappa also features Karthik Rathnam, Prakash Raj, Murali Sharma, Sampath Raj, Rao Ramesh, in supporting roles. Directed by Srikanth Addala of Brahmotsavam fame, the film has music composed by Mani Sharma.

Shyam K Naidu has handled the cinematography, while the editing is done by Marthand K Venkatesh. Narappa is produced by Suresh Productions, in association with Kalaippuli S Thanu's V Creations. Ahead of the film's release, the makers have now unveiled the official trailer of the movie which looks quite promising. It looks like the makers have managed to retain the core essence of the film and it looks quite promising. Though it is going to be a highly challenging task for the team to recreate the impact of Asuran, let us see how the film is received by the Telugu audience.

Venkatesh Daggubati as Narappa leaves a good impact and his expertise adds more authenticity to the character. Priyamani, as the female lead is quite impressive, as well. Ammu Abhirami, who played a brief character in the flashback portion of Asuran, has been retained to play the same part in Narappa as well. It is also good to see the highly powerful 'Blood Bath' theme being retained in the remake and the music elevates the impact of the trailer to greater levels.
