Blockbuster Tamil filmmaker Venkat Prabhu is celebrating his birthday today (November 7) and a special update is now out for Tamil cinema fans from his next directorial, the tentatively titled Thalapathy 68, starring 'Thalapathy' Vijay in the lead role. Extending her wishes to the hit director, Archana Kalpathi, the producer of the upcoming film shared on social media that a major action block is currently being shot in Thailand, while revealing that the team had a night shoot on Monday, November 6. Posting a picture with Venkat Prabhu, she concluded by saying on X that the Mankatha director will be getting a day off from the shooting of Thalapathy 68 on account of his birthday today.

The ongoing schedule of Thalapathy 68 in Thailand is reportedly planned to be carried out over a two-week period after the team and Vijay filmed the first leg of shooting for 15 days in Chennai in October. Vijay joined Venkat Prabhu in Bangkok last week for the second schedule after attending the Leo success meet and the duo are expected to shoot key sequences in the days ahead. A star-studded pooja ceremony for Thalapathy 68 was held last month, with a video also being released by the team, which went on to reveal the film's core cast and crew.

Announced to open in cinemas in 2024, Thalapathy 68 is currently one of the biggest Tamil films in production and marks the first time Vijay is collaborating with the successful Venkat Prabhu- Yuvan Shankar Raja combo. Although the actor and the hit music composer previously worked in Pudhiya Geethai (2003), the expectations are massive this time and fans expect a complete entertainer. Thalapathy 68 has a packed star cast and will see Vijay paired with youth sensation Meenakshi Chaudhary, while Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Jayaram, Laila, Sneha, Yogi Babu, Ajmal Amir, VTV Ganesh, and Venkat Prabhu's younger brother Premgi Amaren, Vaibhav, Aravind Akash, and Ajay Raaj will be seen in key roles.
