A project that raised instant curiosity right from the moment of its announcement in late 2019, Vaadivaasal, will see Suriya joining hands with blockbuster director Vetri Maaran for the first time. Expectations for the upcoming rural film centred around the traditional Tamil Nadu sport of jallikattu have been massive and is being produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu's V Creations banner featuring music by G. V. Prakash Kumar. The film, which initially was planned to roll into production last year, had been delayed due to the pandemic, after which Suriya progressed to complete Navarasa and join director Pandiraj for their Sun Pictures project, while Vetri Maaran is busy with the shooting of his Viduthalai starring Soori and 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi. Having said that, producer Kalaipuli Thanu yesterday announced the release of the highly-anticipated Vaadivaasal title look poster, which has now been unveiled ahead of Suriya's birthday arriving in a week's time on July 23.

The Vaadivaasal title look poster is the first major promotional material from the film after director Vetri Maaran unveiled a specially-designed poster featuring Suriya on the occasion of his birthday last year. The Vaadivaasal poster, which had come out last year received a thunderous response from fans, who have since been waiting for more new glimpses from the film, with composer GV Prakash and Kalaipuli Thanu consistently dropping updates regarding the various developments in the project. Releasing the Vaadivaasal title look poster, Kalaipuli S. Thanu said, "A symbol that signifies our History and Bravery, I am extremely delighted and proud to present the Title look of #VaadiVaasal @Suriya_offl @VetriMaaran @gvprakash #VaadiVaasalTitleLook."

Suriya, who earned rave reviews for his astounding performance in his Soorarai Pottru last year, will be looking forward to carrying the same momentum in Vaadivaasal too. The film is also mighty important for Vetri Maaran, who is adapting the story from CS Chellappa's novel of the same name, with fans expecting the National Award-winning filmmaker to once again hit the bullseye as all his ventures have tasted success both commercially and on the critical front. Vetri Maaran's frequent collaborators cinematographer Velraj and art director Jackie are on board the film, with the rest of the film's cast and crew yet to be revealed.
