'Superstar' Rajinikanth has plenty to offer his fans this year as his upcoming Annaatthe being directed by Viswasam fame Siva under the Sun Pictures banner is scheduled for a grand Diwali release in theatres in November. As the shooting for Annaathe had taken place at the Forum Mall, in Vadapalani, Chennai last month, there has also been extensive talk regarding Rajinikanth's next, currently being called as Thalaivar 169. For a while now, speculations have been rife stating Rajinikanth would be teaming up with director Desingh Periyasamy of Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal fame for Thalaivar 169 to be produced by AGS Entertainment after their box office blockbuster, Bigil, starring 'Thalapathy' Vijay. 

In that light, Desingh Periyasamy on Friday addressed the speculations surrounding Thalaivar 169 and tweeted back to a few followers who tagged him in a post about Rajinikanth's next film. Taking to Twitter, Desingh dismissed the rumors about Thalaivar 169 and said that no conversations with anybody has happened for a film with Rajinikanth, while also requesting fans not to post any fake news. With Desingh Periyasamy clarifying his stance on Thalaivar 169, all sights will now be set on Annaatthe, which includes a stellar star cast featuring names like Khushbu Sundar, Meena, Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Prakash Raj, Jagapathi Babu, Soori, Sathish among others. Touted to be a rural family action entertainer, Keerthy Suresh is said to be playing the role of Rajinikanth's younger sister, with the plot supposedly revolving around her character. As of now, the dubbing works on Annaathe is ongoing in Chennai, with plans for the next schedule in Kolkata expected to take place in the days ahead.
