The cinema and television industry is no exception and in fact, they will be one of the last industries to get back to work. The daily wage workers who earn money through daily shootings are miserably affected by the lockdown. Having said that, Vijay Television (also called Star Vijay or Vijay TV) has helped all the daily wage workers who work in their channel’s television serials through financial donations.

Many of the notable programs and serials that are aired on Vijay TV are produced by Global Villagers. Realizing the crisis situation faced by the technicians and daily wage workers of their shows, the management of Vijay TV helped them through Global Villagers and donated a sum of Rs 75 lakhs (approx.). This magnanimous gesture coming from Star Vijay network has earned them a huge respect among the people and industry insiders. Global Villagers, on their official social media page, shared a note, thanking Vijay TV for their timely help.

The official note states, “In the time of Corona Lockdown, where no shoot or media activities are taking place for the past one month, the livelihood of numerous workers and technicians have become a question mark. Considering this stressful circumstance, Star Vijay has provided Rs 75 Lakhs (Approx) through its production houses to distribute this amount to all the workers and technicians working in their respective projects. Star Vijay has also ensured that the money reaches each and every single one of them.
