Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has announced that he has been tested positive for the coronavirus and has told President Vladimir Putin that he will self-isolate. Reports suggest that first Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov will temporarily perform Mikhail Mishustin's duties. Mikhail Mishustin had told President Vladimir Putin on April 30 over a video call that he had been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus. Mikhail is 54 years old and was named the Prime Minister of Russia this January. Apparently, Putin has not met Mishustin in the recent past, so the chances of him getting infected from the Prime Minister is minimal. It is reported that Vladmir doesn’t meet any one person these days but holds video conferences as and when required.

During a video call, Vladimir Putin had inquired about Mishustin’s health and has also asked him to continue taking part in drafting policies to spike the country’s economy, which has been hurt by the pandemic like most other nations across the globe. It was just yesterday; we had informed our readers that the COVID-19 cases in Russia had reached 1 lakh. It is the 8th country in the world to record over 1 lakh COVID-19 cases and the death tally in Russia recently crossed the thousand mark. We wish Prime Minster Mikhail a speedy recovery!
