A good number of fans in Tamil Nadu have begun taking a liking to Kannada cinema over the years as Ulidavaru Kandanthe, Lucia, Kirik Party, K.G.F: Chapter 1 and most recently, Rakshit Shetty's Athade Srimannarayana, also released in Tamil under the title, Avane Srimannarayana, have received a good response. With Athade Srimannarayana released recently a few days back, the next Kannada film gearing up for a February 14 Valentine's Day release is the upcoming youth romantic comedy, Jiilka, starring Kaveesh Shetty, Priya Hegde and Laksha Shetty as the lead trio.
With promotions already underway, the 'Olave Jeeva' video song from Jiilka has now been released. Composed by Pranshu Jha, 'Olave Jeeva' has been sung by Nihal Tauro and Sangeetha Ravindranath to lyrics penned by Jiilka's hero, Kaveesh Shetty himself. The film's teaser that came out a few days back was debated quite a lot among fans for being bold in its approach of catering to an adult audience demography.
Written and directed by Kaveesh Shetty, Jiilka's supporting cast includes names like Krishna Murthy Kavatar, Gopika Dinesh, Prathik Shetty, Dinesh Shetty among others with cinematography by Vishwajith Rao and Ajay Pal Singh and, editing by Giri Mahesh under the Kaveesha Shetty Productions banner.
