It has been a traumatic and distressing time for the entire Indian 2 team after a heavy crane had fallen on three assistants - Krishna (Assistant Director), Chandran (Art Assistant) and Madhu (Production Assistant) - who all succumbed to their deaths while leaving many injured as well. Both Kamal Haasan and director Shankar, who were present at the shooting spot at the EVP Film City on the outskirts of Chennai, had managed to escape from getting hurt physically by a whisker, with Lyca Productions putting the film now on hold for the next few days.
