National Award-winning singer Chinmayi made her entry in cinema first in 2002 in Malayalam and then in the Tamil film industry in 2003 after which there has been no stopping her. The acclaimed singer has since gone on to sing several hit songs in all South Indian languages including lending her voice in Bollywood films as well. Chinmayi also proved her skills as a dubbing artiste after making her debut in the 2006 Suriya and Jyothika starrer, Sillunu Oru Kaadhal, by lending her voice for Bhumika Chawla.

Meanwhile, Chinmayi has been in a long-standing battle against veteran actor Radha Ravi after the former filed her nomination in the Dubbing Union Elections sometime back. The popular singer had been removed from the South Indian Artistes and Dubbing Artistes Union in 2018 after which she issued a clarification stating she had paid her life-time membership fee to the body. That said, Chinmayi's nomination to contest in the Dubbing Union Elections against Radha Ravi was rejected despite receiving an ad interim stay injunction from the court, which allows protection of the interests of the plaintiff until the interim injunction is determined.

Now, Chinmayi has taken to her Twitter page to express her views on Radha Ravi's victory in the Dubbing Union Elections saying she doesn't understand how the Retired Justice Sri Ravi decided she was not a member of the South Indian Artistes and Dubbing Artistes Union despite the Court's approval and the fact that her interim order states she has all the rights to be a member. Chinmayi questions whether the decision to not recognize her as a Dubbing Union member was based on Radha Ravi's orders while concluding that she is going to take up the matter legally.
