Though the state has been conducting stringent tests and keeping the mortality rate down, the numbers have already catapulten TN to the second place in India, on the list of states most affected by the Corona Virus. Two of the biggest clusters in the state were the Tablighi Jamaat returnees and then the Koyambedu market cluster. However, for some time now, there are reports that the MGR Market could be turning into another sizeable cluster with a number of people being infected from this source. This argument gained weightage after 2 vegetable vendors from this market tested positive for COVID-19!
