'Save Soil': Sadhguru's message on how it is next to impossible to safeguard the environment without protecting the soil quality - Daily news

The 'Save Soil' movement prompted a paradigm shift in the vision of the world fraternity, Sadhguru has said. He stated, "The countries of the world have begun to realize that 'our environment cannot be protected without redeeming soil quality' only after starting the Save Soil campaign." He further revealed, "Of the total funds we spend to stall the effects of climate change and if one-tenth is spent, we will be able to alter the fate of the land and the sand in a specific manner. In this way, in 8-12 years, we will be in a position to reduce the deleterious effects of climate change to the extent of 35-40 percent. Sand assumes the role of a superstar in the realm of soil protection."

Sadhguru, who is at the forefront of the 'Save Soil' movement, participated in the international conference on soil protection held in Dubai. He expressed his viewpoints in a video clip, saying, "We are in Dubai. An international conference named COP 28, purported to climate change, is being held in this city. Representatives from all countries around the world have taken part in this conference. Not even a single word was uttered about soil protection until two years ago at any global conference related to environmental protection." He continued, "Deliberations in such conferences mostly revolve around environmental pollution caused by the usage of coal and oil. All such conferences are conducted without any concern for our mother soil. But, when we got in touch with the governments of several nations after starting the 'Save Soil' campaign, the international community realized the significance of soil protection."

Furthermore, Sadhguru said, "Of late, a mindset has taken shape in the whole world that if the environment has to be protected, it is imperative to preserve the soil first. Many countries have ventured to mouth their opinions in this regard. To be specific, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government, which has organized this conference, has stated elaborately, 'There is no difference between environmental protection and soil protection. Both are the same.' This is a noteworthy step in the right direction. This is a grand measure because, till this moment, for a quite long period, we have been concentrating only on environmental protection without even an inkling about soil protection." He concluded by saying, "Now, the international community has understood one valid point due to the impact of the 'Save Soil' movement that soil protection is also important. For this great gesture, I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to the United Arab Emirates."
