One of the prestigious institutions of Tamil Nadu, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, launched a new initiative on 5th May on women empowerment titled ‘ANBU’. The campaign was launched by the Chancellor of the institution, Dr. Mariazeena Johnson, and one of the most popular Indian actresses, Samantha Ruth Prabhu felicitated the event as the guest of honour. During the event, Sathyabama’s ANBU Health Cards were distributed to women staff, female students and women in public life.


Actress Samantha, who was the guest of honour at the event for the launch of Sathyabama Institue of Science and Technology’s ANBU initiative reportedly stated that she was very happy to associate herself with the institute and congratulated them on the campaign. Speaking at the event, she also stated that women put themselves last and think it is selfish to think of themselves. The actress also said that awareness of wellness is essential and that statistics on women’s health at present are highly concerning. She then added that she believes Sathyabama’s ANBU Health Card will make a positive impact not just in the institute but also across the nation.


Chancellor of Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Dr Mariazeena Johnson, insisted that taking care of one’s health is the most important aspect of every woman that would continue to help her as the foundation of her family during her address. She also spoke about possible self-health progress monitoring measures and spoke about the institute’s various welfare activities for women. With the ANBU Health cards, one can avail of free checks for mammograms,  blood test analyses, screenings for Diabetes, Eye care, Oral health, abdominal scans, and HB count at Sathyabama Hospital.
